Edward II
Having started life as Edward The Second And The Red Hot Polkas as a homage to the fate of the original King Edward 2, they became EdwardII and then ultimately E2K. Technically Edward II last performed together in 1999. Well that was up until they decided it was time to put the band back together for at least a year.
They've got a busy year and it's fitting that a band that forged it's reputation for it's live performances should be welcomed back to the stage at Cambridge. It's not that the band can't make good albums, they definitely can, it's just that they spark so much more in front of an immediate reaction
In their prime, they were considered to be one of the best festival bands around. Something pretty much true of all versions of the band. Early season reports would confirm that's pretty much the same with the ten year reunion tour. This is more than nostalgia, this should be one hell of a good time.
